The blessing ceremony

According to Thai custom, every home must have a spirit house. After constructing a building, Thai people perform a house blessing ceremony.
In the middle of November, we invited a ceremonial specialist for the building of a spirit house to come inspect the location beforehand. This erudite geomancer considers the spirit house’s location, its orientation, what day and time would be auspicious for its construction, as well as the proper height.
Everything in place and the blessing ceremony itself got underway. Our spiritualist started the fast chanting process, which is done in a “dead” language called Pali, originating from Indian Buddhism.
